Green Eggs and Ham Lunch Combined With Letter of the Week
So remember how Reba said she wanted Dr. Seuss lunches all week? Well, that was until she went to school and learned about the letter of the week. This week they have "Willy the Worm." Apparently he is shaped like a "w" and wears a hardhat with a light on it. They also read Green Eggs and Ham today. So she wanted these two concepts combined into one lunch. No big deal, right?
So on the left we have green eggs (a deviled egg with the yolk dyed green) and green ham roll ups. On the right, we have Willy the Worm (bread with apricot preserves) resting on some grapes, blueberries, and raspberries.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish Muffin Tin!
So today Ty has One Fish (an egg), Two Fish (Provolone), Red Fish, Blue Fish (stuffed sandwiches with strawberry jam), rice with carrots, corn, and peas, and some apple sauce!
I really need a new muffin tin. This one doesn't look so bad in person, but it photographs terribly.
His sister took a similar lunch to school!

One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish...
So Reba wants to do a Seuss theme this week and so do my bento friends. How convenient! Our fish cookie cutter is way too big so I cut all of these out by hand. Well, not the egg or goldfish. LOL. The green fish are ham and honey mustard sandwiches. The white fish is a boiled egg. The red and blue fish are provolone, and she has some apples that are not in the picture.
You can see her brother's muffin tin that has a similar theme.

Last Week's Goals: I managed to really get a lot done in terms of cleaning my house, doing laundry, getting the taxes done, etc. I also got all of the clothes ready for the consignment sale and worked hard on getting things ready to be a vendor at the sale.
Spiritual - Continue reading Psalms and prayer journal nightly I only missed 1 or 2 nights of doing this goal. Definitely going to keep trying. I really, really prefer to do my prayer journal rather than just pray on my own. I think of more things that are praises when I do this and I think it is very important for us to thank God for all he does bless us with rather than always ask and ask for our prayers to be answered.
Kids - Take Ty to the gymnastics place anddo President's Day activities with Reba You can see our President's Day activites here. Unfortunately, Ty had a cold so we didn't go to the gymnastics place, but we did play outside on the days we could.
Financial -Finish the taxes and get bills organized Just when I was feeling that I didn't get much done last week, I get to this goal. I got our taxes done AND organized our bills. It feels so much better knowing they are sorted out.
Household - Weekly challenge and my normal chores
Marriage - We managed to get a date night in for the month of February! Woohoo! We went to an Irish Pub for dinner. So nice to have an adult conversation without cutting up someone else's food.
Goals for the new week:
Spirtual - Continue reading Psalms and write in prayer journal.
Kids - Work with Ty on ABCs and continue working with Reba on 1st grade core words.
Financial - Continue to keep the bills organized.
Household - Daily chores (this week will be a bit crazy with the consignment sale going on)
Red Poppy - Finish items for the consignment sale and list new items on my Etsy Shop.

Want More Dr. Seuss Activities? Go to Seussville!

As I was searching for lunch ideas, I happened to find Suessville. It has all kinds of fun activities and games. Thought I would share for those of you looking for Dr. Seuss resources!
Dr. Seuss Week - Kick Off
Okay. So, yesterday Reba (age 5) decided we needed to kick off Dr. Seuss week. I am not sure why she is so excited, but she wants every lunch to be related to the theme this week. We will see. Not sure how many ideas mama can come up with!!!
We have a tendency to refer to our children as thing 1 and thing 2 (according to year of birth). So, Reba wanted Thing 1. My markers are not worth two cents so I couldn't write "thing" on the cheese so I had to settle for just the number. The sandwiches are strawberry jam on bread. The blue hair is cut freehand from cheese and the same for the numbers on their bellies. The kids also had pineapple and some pudding. Not bad for a lunch I wasn't planning on making!
